Welcome to Music Library Finland - a custodian of musical treasures.

Our core aim is to preserve recordings, many of which would invariably be forgotten by many in favour of more "popular" material, as well as to assemble and maintain an authoritative holding of specialist interests such as sound effects, music and production library backing trackes, religious group music and music-related broadcast audio. Various ethnic and language-specific collections such as Scottish bagpipe music and Finnish recordings are also being maintained.

As a non-governmental organization (NGO) we rely on aid from sponsors and volunteer effort. A labour of love it may be, but a worth subject of affection and tender care we hope you will agree. This web site seeks to provide a window into our world and hopefully showcase some of our holdings. Of course, there are many things we would like to do through the web, some are not possible due to legal reasons and many are not possible due to funding and resource reasons. But maybe, with time and patience, many small obstacles can be overcome!

The journey will never end, there will always be something to catalogue and sort out, a new line to research or examine, as well as a new generation to inform and educate.
